the parenthood Playbook

...Because let's be honest, the season of parenthood can feel like a lot!

The Parenthood Playbook is a 90-minute workshop for parents who want to reconnect, rebalance, and rediscover their rhythm together.

You love your partner, but sometimes it feels like you’re just passing the baby and/or kids (and the mental load) back and forth.

That's where we come in!

 What You’ll Learn

You’ll walk away with a folder full of tools to help you:

  • Communicate clearly. Even when you’re tired or overwhelmed
  • Rebalance the mental load and invisible work at home
  • Recognize and talk about maternal gatekeeping (without blame)
  • Practice repair and apology when conflict happens
  • Reconnect emotionally and rediscover your shared values
  • Build a plan for this season of life...together

Why This Workshop

Many parents feel like they lose their footing at some point in parenthood. The Parenthood Playbook gives you practical tools and honest conversations to help you find your way back to each other.
Led by two seasoned therapists — one mom, one dad (not a couple) — this workshop blends humor, heart, and real-life experience.
You’ll laugh, you’ll breathe, and you’ll leave with a plan that actually fits your life.

The Setting: The Affelder House

Nestled among the trees of The West Woods, The Affelder House is the perfect backdrop for slowing down, tuning in, and reconnecting.
Large windows overlook the forest, soft light fills the room, and the air feels different there...quieter, gentler, easier.

You’ll Leave With:

  • A couples “Weekly Ritual for Connection” template to keep communication flowing
  • A Repair & Apology Script for when things get tense
  •  A Values Assessment so you can make sure each play in parenthood runs on values
  • A personalized Couple Transition Plan to solidify your game plan moving forward
  • A lighter heart and a stronger connection

This Workshop Is for You If:

  • You’re expecting a baby or in the thick of your parenting season
  • You love your partner, but you’re running on fumes
  • You’ve caught yourself keeping score
  • You want to feel like teammates again, not just co-parents or roommates
